A vintage Japanese haori from ca. 1960 to 1970, sourced in Okayama. The exterior is chirimen, a labor-intensive silk crepe with a crinkled surface that catches the light beautifully. The pattern is abstract geometric in blue-grey, beige, and burgundy-red, characteristic of the modernist kimono aesthetic of that period. The lining is soft dusty pink silk with a subtle tone-on-tone nature motif, likely bamboo or grass. Back length 83 cm. Excellent condition for age, no stains, chirimen texture intact. Shōwa period, ca. 1960 to 1970. Exterior: chirimen silk crepe. Lining: silk.
