Item details
A yunomi meteo pair by Mukuhara Yoshitoshi (椋原佳俊), Furuhata-gama kiln, Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Thrown in the soft, porous clay characteristic of Hagi-yaki, with an ash glaze in pale blue-white that breaks to warm iron-brown at the foot. The surface shows the deliberate finger-pressed facets typical of Mukuhara's hand. One cup is slightly larger than the other: the traditional meoto pairing, one for each member of a household. The original shiori is included, with care instructions and the maker's exhibition history. According to the documentation, Mukuhara exhibited at department stores in Tokyo including Tobu from Shōwa
