Sōsaku kokeshi titled 紅輪 (Kōrin, "Red Ring") by Takanashi Hanpushi (高梨 半風子), Yamagata Prefecture. The body is decorated with warm red rokusenbiki rings applied on a lathe, a precise and deliberate design that gives this doll its name. Tōgatta-influenced silhouette with lacquer finish, signed on the side alongside the title. Late Shōwa period, ca. 1970s, approx. 31 cm, 542 g. Takanashi made a limited number of kokeshi before leaving the craft entirely, which makes signed pieces like this one rare among collectors.
